Raně barokní zámek nabízí k prohlídce autenticky vybavené místnosti posledních šlechtických majitelů a prostory pro služebnictvo.
Svoji současnou podobu získal díky přestavbám z 2. poloviny 19.století, kdy panství koupili páni z Hanau. Jejich majetkem zůstal až do roku 1945. V červnu 1945 byl na základě Benešových dekretů zkonfiskován a hned poté ho na tři týdny obsadila sovětská armáda. Vyrabovaný a zdevastovaný zámek se z tohoto období dlouho vzpamatovával.
Dnes je zámek Hořovice státním majetkem.
